2026. október 7–8-án került sor a Magyar Felsőoktatási Akkreditációs Bizottság (MAB) helyszíni látogatására a Pázmány Péter Katolikus Egyetemen. Ennek során több szekció keretében ismerkedett meg a Bizottság az Egyetem működésével. A Pázmányon zajló tudományos munkát ismertető szekcióban a Fraknói Kutatócsoport is helyet kapott, s Kanász Viktor ismertette a MAB számára a Kutatócsoport működését, ezen belül is a tudományos utánpótlás-nevelés érdekében végzett tevékenységét.

Cziráki Csongor, a Fraknói Kutatócsoport gyakornoka első helyezést ért el a Magyar Batthyány Alapítvány által meghirdetett "A Batthyányi család szerepe az oszmán hódítás megállításában" pályázaton, "Közös érdekek, közös küzdelem. Batthyány (I.) Ádám főkapitány és Széchényi György püspök kapcsolata levelezésük tükrében" című dolgozatával.

A new international series jointly published by the Fraknói Research Group, the Collegium Professorum Hungarorum, and the Gyula Moravcsik Institute has been appearing since 2024 under the title Storia d'Ungheria – History of Hungary, published by the Viterbo-based Edizioni Sette Città.

The Vilmos Fraknói Vatican Historical Research Group of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and the Péter Pázmány Catholic University was established in the June of 2012 as the ‘Impetus’ Church History Research Group in the frame of the Church History Research Institute of the University founded by Rector Péter Erdő in 1999. It carries on independently the latter’s publications (Bibliotheca Historiae Ecclesiasticae Universitatis Catholicae de Petro Pázmány Nuncupatae) and researches in Rome and in Vienna, with the involvement of academic and other funding sources.
