In 2024, we commemorate the 100th anniversary of the death of Vilmos Fraknói, the abbot of Szekszárd and Szentjobb, canon of Nagyvárad, elected bishop of Arbe, secretary, and vice president of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. The Fraknói Research Group has been preparing for years to pay tribute to the centenary with scientific events and results worthy of its namesake.

Szerdán, 2024. április 10-én tartotta a Fraknói Kutatócsoport IX. műhelyszemináriumát pázmányos egyetemi hallgatók jelenlétében a Központi Szeminárium, egykoron pálos kolostor falai között. A szeminárium tárgya a Collectanea Vaticana Hungariae újonnan megjelent olasz–magyar nyelvű kötete volt. Címe: A római Német–Magyar Kollégium szentelési anyakönyve. A magyarországi hallgatók szentelési bejegyzései (1599–1713). Vonatkozó kutatását és eredményeit a szerző, Tusor Péter ismertette.

Nemes Gábor, a Fraknói Kutatócsoport tudományos főmunkatársa április 6-án részt vett a M5 csatorna História című magazinjában, amelynek témája Bakóc Tamás bíboros, esztergomi érsek volt. Nemes Gábor - vatikáni levéltári kutatásai eredményeit is felhasználva - beszélt a bíboros római tartózkodásáról, pápaválasztási esélyeiről és a végül X. Leó pápa megválasztását hozó konklávéról. Kitért továbbá arra, hogy Bakóc Tamás legátusi kinevezésével mi lehetett X. Leó pápa célja.

The Vilmos Fraknói Vatican Historical Research Group of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and the Péter Pázmány Catholic University was established in the June of 2012 as the ‘Impetus’ Church History Research Group in the frame of the Church History Research Institute of the University founded by Rector Péter Erdő in 1999. It carries on independently the latter’s publications (Bibliotheca Historiae Ecclesiasticae Universitatis Catholicae de Petro Pázmány Nuncupatae) and researches in Rome and in Vienna, with the involvement of academic and other funding sources.
